Veitur issues three main types of bills. General energy bills, bills for water supply and wastewater. Finally, bills for connections.

Payment Methods

  • Where can I change my payment method?

    You can change your payment method and register a payment card on My Pages at Veitur. Go to Invoices - Change Payment Method.

  • What payment methods are available?

    Three payment methods are available:

    1. Online Invoice - A claim sent to your online bank.
    2. Credit Card/Automatic Payments - The claim is charged to your card.
    3. Payment Slip - A slip sent by mail and a claim sent to your online bank.
  • I just got a new card. Why isn’t the charge going through like it did with my old card?

    If you have a new card, you need to register the payment method again.

  • Why can't you change my payment method to a credit card over the phone?

    Our staff cannot take card information over the phone for security reasons. By registering your credit card as a payment method on My Pages at Veitur, you can ensure secure, encrypted registration of your card information.

  • I am not good with computers and have trouble registering my card on My Pages at Veitur. What can I do?

    You are welcome to visit us at our office at Bæjarháls 1, and we can help you register your card.

  • I have a registered credit card with you. Why did I get the invoice sent to my online bank?

    We were unable to charge your card for the invoice. Therefore, the invoice is sent to your online bank, and the next issued invoice will be charged to your card.

  • I received an SMS to register my card again because the charge could not be made. Why do I need to register it again?

    If we fail to charge your credit card three times, the payment method is canceled, and the claim is sent to your online bank. If you want the claim to continue being charged to your credit card, you need to register the payment method again.

  • I just registered a new credit card, but I have a claim in my online bank. Can't it be charged to the credit card?

    No, it cannot. Existing invoices cannot be charged to the credit card. You need to pay the invoice in your online bank. The next issued invoice will be charged to the card.

  • I can't register my credit card for payment method change on My Pages. What can I do?

    Check if it works in a different browser. You can also send us an inquiry here.

  • How do I opt out of paper mail?

    To do this, you need to change your payment method. On My Pages at Veitur, change your payment method to Online Invoice to stop receiving payment slips by mail.

  • How do I sign up for direct debit?

    Direct debits are registered with your bank, not with Veitur. You need to contact your bank regarding direct debits.

  • I receive a claim in my online bank but do not see the invoice there. Why?

    We do not send copies of invoices to the online bank, only the claim itself. You can access the breakdown of all invoices on My Pages at Veitur.

  • Can I register my company for electronic invoices through a data exchange service?

    You can send us a request to register this payment method here. It cannot be registered on My Pages at Veitur.

  • What service fees are charged?

    • Payment slip fee

  • What is the payment slip fee?

    The payment slip fee covers the cost of printing and sending the payment slip.

  • What service fees am I paying?

    Notification and payment fees are charged for creating and canceling a claim in the bank when it has been paid. The payment slip fee covers the cost of printing and sending the payment slip by mail.

  • What is the cheapest payment method?

    An invoice sent to your online bank and charged to your credit card.
