Tips for using hot water wisely

We can all contribute to the sustainable use of resources and protect the quality of life that hot water brings us. Use it wisely and save in the process. 

House heating

Icelandic homes use annually on average 4-5 tons of hot water per m2. About 90% of its use are due to central heating and we use the rest for other things, such as taking a bath or shower, clean the home and do the dishes.

  • The lower value is the criteria for a well-insulated house with a well-configured heating systems.
  • Higher value corresponds to normal use for a house in reasonable condition.
  • To find the volume of a house can be multiplied by a factor of 3.3 in square meters.
