Applications for Changes to Hot Water Flow in Summer Houses

Reducing Flow

• Flow reduction is only done during the period of April and May.

• There are no exceptions to this period.

• Please note that the minimum flow rate for recreational homes is three liters per minute.  

Application for Additional Flow

• You can apply for increased flow at any time.

• The price list for hot water is available on this website. You can find the price for additional flow under Frístundahús - Hemlataxtar.

• In most cases, adding two liters per minute is enough to meet the needs, for example, for hot tubs.

 Application Process

1. The application is submitted to Veitur here.

2. Veitur will process the application and confirm whether it is possible to fulfill the request.

General Information

The basic price includes 3 liters per minute, which is the minimum supply amount for summer houses.

A liter per minute refers to the flow rate equivalent to 1 liter of water per minute.

• A special tax of 2% of the retail price must be paid to the state for hot water.

• The value-added tax (VAT) for water used for heating is 11%.
